Toogoom

Toogoom is a picturesque seaside community, only a 15 minute drive from Hervey Bay, about midway between Pialba and Burrum Heads. It is a wonderful place to relax by the water.

Toogoom, meaning ‘a place of rest’, is an old, small settlement on the southern banks of Beelbi Creek and is the perfect spot for those looking for a tranquil beach retreat with a range of holiday homes for rent.

The area was first settled by Europeans as a pastoral run in 1855 with a homestead near Beelbi Creek, immediately west of the town, while today it is gradually spreading down the open beach.

This area boasts unspoilt beaches, great fishing, wildlife, bird watching and crabbing in the creek. Sailboarding, sailing and canoeing are also popular. There are two caravan/camping grounds, local shops and a community hall.

Enjoy a sunset drink and meal at the restaurant next to the boat ramp.
